About the position

The Chief of Staff (COS) will oversee all project management work and report directly to the Chief Program Officer to support all programs. This position is crucial in developing and fostering external relationships with a variety of stakeholders, ensuring that the organization maintains its reputation and operational effectiveness. The COS will provide strategic planning and decision-making for all administrative and impact work, collaborating with Senior Vice Presidents, the VP of Operations, and Executive Cabinet team members to carry out JEVS Human Services operations and goals. This role will represent the organization to foster strategic relationships and further JEVS Human Services' reputation. Additionally, the COS will support the project management needs of the Chief Program Officer, acting as a liaison on company climate, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning. In terms of administrative oversight, the COS will represent the Chief of Programs with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective completion of projects and initiatives. This includes researching and recommending new and revised policies and strategies, creating and maintaining systems and processes to streamline operations, and identifying areas of growth for JEVS Human Services to pursue its mission. The COS will work closely with the Chief Program Officer to ensure integration of agency divisions and remove silos. The role also encompasses fundraising and sustainability, where the COS will design and develop business models and pitch those to a variety of funders to secure funding to launch and sustain programs. Financial management responsibilities include supporting the creation of division budgets and financial planning strategies, working with the Chief Program Officer and CFO to manage budgets effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all project management work and report to the Chief Program Officer.

  • Support monitoring of contract management and board committee documents.
  • Provide strategic planning and decision-making for administrative and impact work.
  • Collaborate with Senior Vice Presidents and Executive Cabinet team members to achieve operational goals.

  • Support project management needs for the Chief Program Officer.
  • Act as a liaison on company climate, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning.
  • Ensure timely and effective completion of projects and initiatives of the Chief of Programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in human services, social work, or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Seven years of senior leadership experience in overseeing social services delivery.
  • Five or more years of executive-level administrative oversight experience.
  • Experience supervising leadership teams and individual team members.
  • Experience with labor management and developing administrative budgets.
  • Experience with partnership development and collaborations.
  • Experience with strategic plan development and management.
  • Advanced-level Microsoft Office skills: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
