About the position

As the Chief of Staff for Strategic Advisory & Lifecycle Resiliency Services (SALRS) at Black & Veatch, you will serve as a key executive advisor to the President of SALRS. This role is pivotal in executing operational excellence and driving key strategic objectives, particularly in sales performance. You will be responsible for enhancing the effectiveness of the President and the SALRS organization, ensuring that leadership processes and governance are well-defined and communicated. Your role will involve building partnerships across the business, advocating for business objectives, and anticipating challenges that require immediate attention. You will provide leadership that influences better time management and ensure that the President is well-prepared for engagements. In this position, you will identify and prioritize opportunities for continuous improvement based on leading practices in the consulting industry. You will execute strategic initiatives tied to SALRS growth, including facilitating innovation workshops and driving critical growth campaigns. Additionally, you will serve as a proxy for the SALRS President in various meetings, manage communications, and support the President in synthesizing insights and generating actionable outcomes. Your responsibilities will also include consulting on workforce and organizational matters, supporting the development of SALRS strategy, and coordinating with other Chief of Staffs across the organization. You will oversee the management of the SALRS Leadership Team's strategy meetings, ensure compliance with company policies, and drive a monthly review of key activities and performance metrics. This role requires a proactive approach to workforce needs and the ability to interpret workforce analytics to create compelling messages for leadership. You will also partner with Finance on budget oversight and have department head responsibilities related to Chief of Staff duties.

Responsibilities

  • Function as an executive advisor to the President of SALRS.
  • Drive key strategic objectives including sales performance to goals.
  • Expand the bandwidth and effectiveness of the President.
  • Support and facilitate SALRS Leadership Team objectives.
  • Ensure best-in-class leadership and effective governance processes.
  • Build partnerships across the business and advocate for business objectives.
  • Anticipate challenges requiring immediate attention and diplomacy.
  • Provide leadership that influences time management and information flow to the President.
  • Serve as an extension of the SALRS President in various meetings and activities.
  • Prioritize the President's time, travel, and schedule in coordination with the Executive Assistant.
  • Oversee and manage communications including newsletters and town halls.
  • Support the President in meetings by synthesizing insights and generating actionable outcomes.
  • Engage proactively in business discussions and cultivate relationships with management.
  • Consult on workforce and organizational matters in partnership with HR.
  • Support the preparation of Executive Leadership Team presentations.
  • Aid in the development of SALRS Strategy and ensure regular updates based on market trends.
  • Coordinate with Chief of Staffs in other sectors and regions.
  • Work with SALRS Leadership Team and HR to align professional development opportunities.
  • Anticipate workforce needs and develop forward-thinking solutions.
  • Support leaders in building and maintaining high-performing teams.
  • Develop quarterly Leadership Team strategy meetings.
  • Ensure leadership is prepared for client meetings.
  • Coordinate IT efforts in support of the business.
  • Ensure compliance with required training and company policies.
  • Design and coordinate annual Leadership off-site team alignment sessions.
  • Drive monthly reviews of SALRS key activities and KPIs.
  • Partner with Finance on budget and financial performance oversight.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
  • Client services experience.
  • 12-15+ years of business experience in leadership roles with multi-functional capability.

Nice-to-haves
