About the position

The Chief of Staff to the Business Unit General Manager (BU GM) at Tempus is a pivotal role designed for individuals passionate about precision medicine and the healthcare industry. This position is part of a rotational Builders Program, where the individual will support business and operational leaders across various business units. The role involves overseeing complex strategic projects, designing operational models, and identifying growth opportunities, ultimately preparing the individual for a permanent leadership position within the organization after one year.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage complex, cross-functional execution of key strategic projects with internal and external stakeholders as the right hand to a Business Unit GM.
• Design and/or restructure operating models, organizational structures, and service delivery models.
• Identify growth and optimization opportunities and design execution roadmaps.
• Ensure progress and alignment of efforts across different teams, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
• Partner with Product & Engineering on the development of product features.
• Accountable for department KPIs.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of operating experience including scaling teams and leading key business initiatives with a track record of exceeding KPIs.
• Impeccable verbal and written communication skills with the ability to distill complex issues into concrete action plans.
• Exceptional leadership and management skills.
• Curiosity to learn and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in an analytical or healthcare-related field.
