The Chief of Staff to the Dean of the School of Public Health at Brown University plays a pivotal role in overseeing a wide range of executive and project support for the dean. This position is integral to leading strategy development and executing high-priority objectives that advance the School's priorities and academic mission. As a strategic advisor to the dean, the Chief of Staff prioritizes issues requiring the dean's attention and ensures timely execution on matters that align with the School's goals, objectives, and priorities. This role is essential in preparing the dean for meetings, events, travel, and speaking opportunities, ensuring that all necessary connections are made and follow-ups are conducted effectively. As a member of the dean's leadership team, the Chief of Staff collaborates closely with the dean to manage commitments and deliverables, driving organizational progress. This includes coordinating with the Advancement office on fundraising strategies and goals, as well as collaborating with the Executive Dean of Finance and Administration, the Academic Dean, and other leadership team members on managing the dean's office strategic budget and multi-year resource management. The Chief of Staff will lead high-priority requests from the dean, manage the Director of Dean's Initiatives, and oversee the development of briefing memos, remarks, and other communication materials for both internal and external engagements. Additionally, this role involves managing special projects, decision-making regarding speaking engagements, and tracking progress on projects that do not require the dean's direct involvement. The Chief of Staff also serves as a liaison with academic and administrative leaders throughout Brown University, ensuring that the dean is well-informed about general School of Public Health and University issues. This position requires providing accurate and objective information and perspectives to support the dean's decision-making processes.
