The Chief of Staff (CoS) to the Head of Data at Atlassian is a pivotal role that combines strategic leadership with operational excellence. This position is designed to support the Head of Data and the broader data organization, ensuring that priorities are effectively managed and that the team operates efficiently. The CoS will act as a trusted advisor, helping to amplify the team's effectiveness and drive special projects that align with the organization's goals.

Responsibilities

  • Direct strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of senior leadership and department heads.
  • Act as a liaison with staff, executives, and senior leaders to manage and deliver project updates, proposals, and planning.
  • Supervise daily operations in collaboration with senior managers and department leaders, including generating correspondence and coordinating departmental activities.
  • Assist executive team members in determining and prioritizing business strategies based on their schedules.
  • Cultivate relationships with all employees to enhance operational efficiency and contribute to developing new strategies through collaboration on special projects.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert by handling inquiries, developing action plans, and supporting the preparation and dissemination of communications.
  • Enhance current processes and streamline organizational procedures for improved efficiency and productivity.
  • Provide recommendations to department leaders for improving organizational teamwork through consultation services.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of relevant professional experience in program and operational management.
  • Experience turning a strategy into executable plans and driving high visibility projects.
  • Analytic prowess with a drive to support decisions with data and the ability to make data digestible to varied audiences.
  • Experience in diagnosing pain points for teams and ensuring they are effectively addressed.
