About the position

The Chief of Staff at The Water Project is a full-time role that reports directly to the CEO and plays a crucial part in the development and execution of the organization's strategic goals. This position involves managing the CEO's schedule, providing administrative support, and ensuring the successful execution of projects and initiatives across the organization. The Chief of Staff will act as a strategic partner, project leader, and liaison, facilitating communication and accountability among various departments while driving organizational efficiency and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance the effectiveness of the CEO by providing high-level operational and administrative support.
  • Manage the CEO's calendar, travel arrangements, and meeting coordination to ensure focus on strategic priorities.
  • Support the CEO's management of leadership team meetings, ensuring follow-through on action items and clear communication.
  • Act as a trusted thought partner to the CEO, helping prioritize initiatives and ensuring key objectives are met.
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO to translate visionary ideas into functional plans for the organization.
  • Support the leadership of cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Monitor organizational progress, ensuring that teams meet their goals and deadlines in alignment with the CEO's vision.
  • Proactively identify bottlenecks and operational inefficiencies, addressing them before they become issues.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in roles blending executive support and operational/project management.
  • 5+ years of experience working closely with senior nonprofit or business leaders, including C-suite level.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and structuring senior-level engagements that support strategic outcomes.
  • Extensive experience developing strategies that shape leadership decisions and enhance organizational impact.
