About the position

The Chief of Staff for the U.S. Space Forces-U.S. Northern Command (SPACEFOR-NORTH) serves as the Senior Civilian in the component, advising and guiding the mission to support national objectives. This role involves critical thinking and leadership to ensure effective space capabilities and services, while maintaining relationships with various directorates and providing updates to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Advise and vector the growing mission set for SPACEFOR-NORTH.
• Support the SPACENORTH Commander in defending the homeland.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with 9 directorates.
• Provide weekly updates to senior leadership regarding project status and solutions.
• Guide contractor staff in managing workflow processes for the directorate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, technology, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
• Experience in a management role, preferably in a government setting.
• Strong leadership and management skills to motivate and develop staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for sound decision-making.
• Project management skills to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Knowledge of government operations and policies to navigate complex bureaucracies.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong ethics and integrity with a commitment to transparency and accountability.
• Top Secret Clearance highly desired.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Space Domain Awareness, Global Positioning System, Missile Warning, Electronic or Orbital Warfare.
• Experience leading teams to accomplish objectives and develop novel solutions.
