About the position

The Chief of Staff at the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service will work closely with the Executive Director and senior leadership to manage operations, facilitate communication, and provide strategic support to achieve the center's goals. This role is crucial in ensuring effective management and execution of strategic initiatives, operational oversight, and stakeholder engagement within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership team to set strategic priorities and track progress of initiatives.
• Manage leadership teams' schedules and oversee daily operations.
• Develop annual budget and conduct financial reporting and analysis.
• Serve as a liaison between the Executive Director and stakeholders, ensuring message consistency.
• Promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the team.
• Conduct research and provide analysis to support decision-making and manage special projects.
• Adhere to governance standards and assist in implementing organizational policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with at least five years of relevant experience or a master's degree with at least two years of relevant experience.
• Experience in strategic management, budgeting, and liaison work in higher education is preferred.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively with senior executives and diverse teams.
• High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., Workday, Microsoft Office Suite).
