About the position

The Chief of Staff at Frolic will serve as a critical support to the leadership team, ensuring smooth operational coordination and supporting strategic decision-making processes. This role is akin to a Project Manager for company operations, contributing to groundbreaking projects aimed at enhancing housing equity and community ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to the CEO and COO, managing their priorities and conducting ad hoc project work.
  • Engage with staff to prevent bottlenecking and ensure team members have necessary information and feedback.
  • Design and implement operational processes and project management structures to improve team effectiveness.
  • Contribute to hiring processes and team development as the organization grows.
  • Support mission-critical areas to alleviate capacity constraints on other team members.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Share insights to foster a culture of kindness and openness within the team.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in operations, project management, or a similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and productivity software.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience supporting executive-level decision making.

Nice-to-haves

  • Lived experience in the ways the current housing system is failing.
  • Background in real estate, urban planning, or community development.
  • Interest in the development process, including financial modeling and entitlements.
  • Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of cooperative business models or alternative ownership structures.
