About the position

The Chief of Staff at Growthland is a strategic leadership role focused on driving key initiatives, optimizing operational efficiency, and ensuring effective communication within the organization. This position supports the General Manager and executive team, managing strategic projects and overseeing daily operations in the agribusiness sector. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, financial acumen, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the GM and senior executives to manage company priorities and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed briefing materials, reports, and presentations for executive meetings and decision-making processes.
  • Serve as a liaison between the executive team and other departments, facilitating effective communication.
  • Oversee and optimize daily operational functions to ensure efficient business processes.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance organizational effectiveness and manage risks.
  • Monitor performance metrics and provide actionable recommendations for operational improvements.
  • Lead and coordinate high-priority projects with a focus on strategic outcomes.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, allocate resources, and track progress to achieve project objectives.
  • Identify and address potential risks and challenges with innovative solutions.
  • Facilitate and support cross-departmental communication for strategic decision-making.
  • Mentor and guide a team of staff or project coordinators, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Allocate resources efficiently and support team members in meeting their objectives.
  • Utilize financial principles to support budget management and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to track financial performance and assist in developing financial strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years in a senior administrative or management role, preferably in the agricultural industry.
  • Solid grasp of financial management principles.
  • Must obtain a real estate license for Iowa and surrounding states while employed.
  • Proven expertise in project management.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic leadership and team management skills.
  • Process improvement and efficiency expertise.
  • Fundamental financial acumen.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus but not required.
