About the position

The Chief of Staff at Haugland Group will support the COO in executing the company's strategic vision for developing future infrastructure. This role is pivotal in shaping the company's direction, enhancing operational efficiency, and fostering collaboration across departments. The Chief of Staff will also represent the COO in various engagements and manage executive-level communications and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the COO and the executive team to develop and execute strategic initiatives that drive business growth and operational excellence.
  • Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment across departments and driving execution from inception to completion.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, competitor activities, and industry dynamics to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the COO.
  • Manage executive-level meetings, including agenda setting, presentation preparation, and follow-up.
  • Function as a liaison between the COO and other departments, facilitating communication, coordination, and alignment on strategic priorities.
  • Represent the COO and the company in external meetings, conferences, and other engagements as needed.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Track and follow up on key deliverables at the executive team and senior staff level.
  • Manage confidential data, including sensitive business, financial and personnel information.
  • Lead and coordinate special/strategic projects.
  • Manage top priority initiatives that require cross-disciplinary implementation, particularly across multiple departments and levels.
  • Act as a liaison between field support and project management to Operations leads.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, ideally in construction management with experience in power infrastructure projects or Civil Engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred (or considerable relevant Trade Union experience).
  • Effective communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills, and a strong work ethic.
  • Strong leadership, initiative, management, and people skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize important tasks over others.
  • Ability to analyze and compile a large amount of data and produce conclusive results.
