About the position

PermitFlow's mission is to streamline and simplify construction permitting in the $1.6 trillion United States construction market. Our software reduces time to permit, supporting permitting end-to-end including permit research, application preparation, submission, and monitoring. We're looking for a Chief of Staff to work as the CEO's extension and thought partner to execute on an increasingly complex and critical basket of priorities. This versatile role offers ample opportunities to learn and make a difference, providing a front-row seat as we grow. You will have significant responsibility and exposure to different teams, the executive team, partners, customers, and investors. We seek a problem solver and self-organizer who thrives in ambiguity and fast-paced environments, with a deep bias for action. You will have full access to our decision-making and internal reflections, and we are looking for high-drive and horsepower to help take PermitFlow to the next level.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a sounding board and thought partner to the CEO across all topics related to the company
  • Handle day-to-day tactical work as needed that comes to the CEO
  • Drive senior executives to ensure the execution of immediate & critical priorities and keep accountability of leadership action items
  • Spearhead specific strategic projects, executing on high priority business areas or initiatives: scoping, setting goals and success metrics, reporting on outcomes
  • Handle confidential communications, strategic decisions, and executive-level matters with professionalism and empathy

Requirements

  • 3 years of industry experience in management consulting or financial services (e.g., private equity, investment banking, venture capital), corporate strategy, and/or strategy & operations at a high-growth start-up
  • Solid experience in operational strategy development and execution, with a knack for improving efficiency and growth
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced startup environment, with a focus on strategic decision-making and operational agility
  • Comfortable with data tools and strong quantitative skills
  • Clear and concise writing skills to communicate effectively
  • Strong work ethic and excitement to take on challenges
  • Team player with a focus on cross-functional success
  • NYC Based: Hybrid role with in-person required Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in our Manhattan office
