About the position

The Chief of Staff for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Inspector General (OIG) plays a pivotal role in managing sensitive assignments and conducting complex inquiries and projects under the direction of the Deputy Inspector General. This position serves as a trusted advisor, providing oversight and executive leadership for various assignments, and represents the OIG in dealings with high-level stakeholders, including Congressional members and other governmental departments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and resource, facilitating communication between OIG leadership, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Provide oversight and executive leadership for various assignments related to OIG management and activities.
  • Make legislative and policy recommendations based on research and analysis.
  • Oversee and direct administrative components of critical program segments and internal projects that influence the OIG mission.
  • Represent the IG, Deputy IG, and Assistant IGs in dealings with Department-level managers and Congressional staff.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • Experience in either the public or private sector, with a focus on leadership and management roles.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Experience leading comprehensive oversight programs and implementing innovative processes.
