About the position

The Chief of Staff at Autodesk will serve as a strategic advisor and operational leader supporting the Chief Technologist within the COO organization. This role is pivotal in managing operating models, facilitating executive meetings, and driving strategic planning initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building high-performing teams and optimizing operations in a technology-focused environment, with flexibility for remote work and travel requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the strategy and planning cycles to enhance business context and ensure alignment across teams.
  • Facilitate critical executive meetings and workshops, synthesizing diverse perspectives into actionable strategies.
  • Design and refine cross-functional processes to boost organizational agility and performance.
  • Manage operating models to ensure the team has the right structure, accountabilities, and governance.
  • Drive change management practices to support the transition to a data-driven organization.
  • Lead strategic projects ranging from technical integration of acquired businesses to cultural initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to the Chief Technologist and senior leadership, providing insightful analysis and representation in key discussions.
  • Plan and facilitate team and cross-team leadership meetings and off-sites, guiding discussions and compiling notes and action items.
  • Champion employee engagement for the team, ensuring measurable goals are developed for programs.
  • Act as an advisor to the Chief Technologist and leadership teams, helping develop team charters and track priorities.
  • Collaborate with the COO Chief of Staff cohort and operate as a leader within the broader organization.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in product operations, program management, management consulting, or strategic planning within a high-tech environment.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or MS preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in leading complex, cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Skilled team builder and facilitator, adept at establishing consensus in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Successful background in building and galvanizing effective teams.
  • Experienced in building C-level presentations with excellent communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; familiarity with Asana or other project management tools is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in strategy development and GTM teams or SaaS companies is a plus.
