About the position

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the principal deputy to the PSA Director and is delegated authority to act in the absence of the Director by making final agency decisions related to the operations of the Agency.
  • Serve as delegate authorized to act in the absence of the Assistant Director for Defendant Engagement and System Support and/or the Assistant Director for Management and Administration by making final decisions related to the operations of each division, as appropriate.
  • Serve as senior advisor to the PSA Director and Assistant Directors on the full range of operational and mission-support functions, including human capital management, policy development, strategic planning, finance and administration, and information technology.
  • Oversee, manage and lead programmatic initiatives and daily operations of the Office of the Director and collaborate with office leadership to ensure strategic alignment with the mission, goals and objectives of PSA.
  • Facilitate human resources planning and personnel actions on behalf of the Office of the Director.
  • Oversee budget and contract administration for the Office of the Director to ensure achievement of the organization's mission.
  • Manage and coordinate tasking responses, work activities, assignments, and projects internal to the organization, ensuring effective and timely completion of projects delegated to PSA offices.
  • Manage Office of the Director staff. Plan and assign work, delegate responsibility, and establish priorities. Counsel employees on performance and administrative issues; interview candidates for positions and recommend or take personnel actions. Establish performance standards and evaluate performance and overall effectiveness in meeting office and PSA goals and objectives. Provide developmental activities for staff. Identify means of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the office. Perform budget development and execution activities for the office, assuring that resources are acquired and managed in accordance with relevant policy and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a one-year SES probationary period, if not already completed.
  • Must provide written narratives on each of the Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs), if applicable and Professional/Technical Qualifications (PTQs).

  • Financial Disclosure required.
