About the position

The Chief of Staff at Shield AI will play a crucial role in supporting the VP of Engineering by managing complex projects, enhancing operational efficiency, and fostering a collaborative culture within the engineering team. This position requires a strategic mindset and exceptional organizational skills to ensure the smooth execution of executive operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management support for the VP of Engineering and manage a complex calendar.
• Lead and manage special projects to improve cross-functional collaboration and internal processes related to aircraft development.
• Assist in research and customer-facing activities.
• Foster an engaging culture in the Frisco office.
• Handle administrative tasks such as time management, recruiting requisitions, travel, and expense reports.
• Organize meetings for the team, including design reviews and external meetings.
• Assist in managing program schedules for aircraft development.
• Polish slides for meetings and prepare necessary documents.
• Assist in recruiting activities, including sourcing candidates and scheduling interviews.
• Perform additional ad-hoc tasks to support the engineering team and the wider business.

Requirements

• 5-10+ years of experience in project coordination, program management, or executive assistant roles with a focus on engineering or technical teams.
• Proven ability to take initiative and manage complex projects or schedules with attention to detail.
• Experience in a fast-paced, technical environment, collaborating with engineers and C-suite executives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of navigating operational and strategic challenges.
• Strong time management and organizational skills, ensuring accountability for engineering action items.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• Experience supporting C-suite executives in a rapidly growing company.
• Familiarity with technical project management methodologies and tools.
• Experience working on engineering or product development teams.
