About the position

ORBCOMM is seeking a Chief of Staff to play a key role in setting the team's annual and multi-year strategies, interacting with key internal and external stakeholders, measuring key performance metrics of the organization, and executing special projects. This individual will participate in high-level strategic and tactical meetings, prepare internal communications, conduct research, and own targeted initiatives. The right candidate will be strategic, operationally minded, and capable of managing multiple important priorities in parallel. This role will be a hybrid position working out of our Sterling, VA or Ottawa, ON office.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with C-Suite executives, senior leaders, and the CEO to formulate and drive strategic alignment.
  • Organize CEO's office - responsible for orchestration of value creation framework.
  • Oversee, support, and guide teams and leaders engaged in high priority business process re-engineering initiatives.
  • Determine key performance indicators and how to measure and improve team performance.
  • Keep meetings focused and plan and coordinate them effectively; prepare and coordinate with ELT presentations, materials for the board, and employee communications.
  • Provide hands-on support to transform ideas into reality and monitor their progress.
  • Steer strategic business initiatives from genesis to fruition.
  • Pinpoint and address core issues within business processes.
  • Present detailed strategic analysis to the CEO and other senior leaders as input to strategy development and manage strategy deployment.
  • Evaluate risk factors when making critical business decisions.
  • Manage highly confidential projects and initiatives with skillful oversight and support.
  • Lead initiatives like goal setting, leadership team meetings, and company all-hands.
  • Identify areas of improvement across the organization and make actionable recommendations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a business or management role.
  • 3+ years' experience in consulting and/or investment banking/private equity.
  • Masters in business administration or similar field.
  • Proven track record of managing large complex projects involving multiple work streams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success orchestrating and executing strategic initiatives in an operational capacity.
  • Meaningful and demonstrated history of operational efficiency and optimization.
  • Proven experience organizing and directing multiple teams and departments.
  • Exceptional project manager with extraordinary organization skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong command of modern technology (MS Office: Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Extremely versatile, dedicated to efficient productivity.
