About the position

The Chief of Staff will serve as a strategic partner to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Light & Wonder, facilitating the execution of the technology strategy across the organization. This role is essential for managing day-to-day operations, driving key initiatives, ensuring cross-functional alignment, and monitoring goals for the technology team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the CTO in developing and implementing the technology strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Drive execution of key initiatives and projects, ensuring timelines and goals are met.
  • Monitor progress against goals and provide regular updates to the CTO and stakeholders.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Office of the CTO, including coordinating meetings and preparing agendas.
  • Serve as a point of contact between the CTO and internal/external stakeholders, managing communications.
  • Oversee budget planning and management for the technology department, collaborating with finance and operations teams.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments to ensure alignment with the technology strategy.
  • Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives on behalf of the CTO, ensuring successful execution.
  • Act as a liaison between the technology team and other departments to address challenges and resolve conflicts.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the CTO on key issues and decisions.
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and materials for executive meetings and board presentations.
  • Conduct research and analysis on industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Mentor and guide members of the technology team, assisting in their skill development.
  • Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and retaining top talent for the technology department.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and innovative culture within the technology team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years in a leadership or strategic role, focusing on technology, operations, or consulting.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of technology trends and their impact on business strategy.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, and data analysis software.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to anticipate the needs of the CTO and the technology team.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • A team player with a collaborative mindset and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
