About the position

The Chief of Staff at Tides will play a pivotal role in enhancing the effectiveness of the CEO and the Executive Team by facilitating collaboration, managing priorities, and ensuring effective communication across the organization. This position is integral to supporting the CEO in decision-making, project implementation, and organizational strategy, while exemplifying a commitment to social justice and equity.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate collaboration between the CEO and the Executive Team.
  • Support the CEO's effectiveness by informing priorities with cross-functional input.
  • Communicate needs and direction across teams and the organization.
  • Serve as a liaison between functions and business units on key initiatives.
  • Assist executive team members in implementing organization-wide projects and initiatives.
  • Counsel the CEO before internal meetings and assist with follow-ups.
  • Advise on external communications in partnership with the Marketing and Communications team.
  • Draft, review, and coordinate Board materials and ensure agenda items are well prepared.
  • Prioritize the demands of the CEO and manage tasks on their behalf.
  • Participate in strategy development and decision-making for long-term success.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of senior-level experience in project or program management, business planning, and analytics.
  • Experience in organizing and influencing cross-functional teams or workgroups.
  • Strong communication, listening, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Proven track record integrating justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion into work practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior Chief of Staff experience in a matrixed organization.
