The Chief of Staff position at Battery Park City Authority is a pivotal role that reports directly to the President & CEO and collaborates closely with the Chief Operating Officer. This position is integral to the organization's leadership team, focusing on coordinating and leading high-priority projects aimed at institutional transformation and accountability. The Chief of Staff will play a crucial role in supporting functions related to Board and external stakeholder engagement, ensuring that the organization operates efficiently and effectively in achieving its goals. In this role, the Chief of Staff will be responsible for ensuring that progress is made on priority initiatives, following up on projects and tasks as directed by the President. This includes coordinating with the Project Management Office to ensure that feedback from the President is accurately incorporated, and that project scopes, schedules, and delivery commitments are clearly defined. The Chief of Staff will also be tasked with anticipating potential issues and identifying opportunities, proactively developing plans to address them. Additionally, the Chief of Staff will assess inquiries and meeting requests directed to the President and the Board Chair, determining the appropriate course of action. They will ensure effective preparation and planning for board meetings, providing necessary support to Board Members as requested. The role also involves developing detailed briefings for the President to prepare for both internal and external meetings and events, as well as overseeing the implementation of project scopes, schedules, and budgets. The Chief of Staff will help maintain excellence in customer service across the organization, both for staff and the public, and will provide communication support by drafting memos, presentations, external communications, and social media posts. Furthermore, they will assist in maintaining contact mailing lists and other recordkeeping functions, and provide executive support to ensure smooth operations, including organizing meetings, developing agendas, drafting minutes, managing calendars, and overseeing document management.
