About the position

The Chief of the Laryngology Division at the University of Pennsylvania is a full-time position within the Department of Otorhinolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery. This role is focused on leading the Laryngology Division, with responsibilities that encompass clinical practice, teaching, and research. The ideal candidate will have expertise in laryngeal, airway, and esophageal disorders, and will be expected to enhance the clinical and academic initiatives of the Voice and Swallowing Center program.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Chief of the Laryngology Division.
  • Provide medical and surgical treatment for patients with laryngeal, pharyngo-esophageal, and airway pathologies.
  • Teach medical students and residents, including formal lectures on an annual basis.
  • Develop a clinical and translational research program with collaborations within and outside the department.
  • Build and enhance clinical and academic initiatives of the Voice and Swallowing Center program.

Requirements

  • M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree required.
  • Board certified or board eligible in relevant specialty.
  • Established record of scholarship activity and/or research programs related to laryngology/esophagology.
  • Strong background in program-building and academic leadership.
