About the position

The Chief Officer, Revenue Security is responsible for overseeing the security of all New York City Transit (NYCT) revenue assets, including employees, revenue, and fare media. This role involves managing security contracts, electronic security systems, and firearms training, while ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations. The position requires collaboration with law enforcement and the administration of active shooter training and drills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the security of all NYCT revenue assets, including employees, revenue, and fare media.
  • Oversee the 24/7 armed guard contract for the Consolidated Revenue Facility (CRF) to ensure compliance with specifications and laws.
  • Manage electronic security systems at CRF and remote reporting sites.
  • Administer the issuance, safeguarding, repair, and licensing of NYCT firearms and ammunition.
  • Conduct firearms training and ensure proper use of force compliance.
  • Liaise with the NYPD Pistol Licensing Unit.
  • Serve as Master Instructor for NYCT CRF NYS Certified Security Guard School.
  • Coordinate active shooter training and drills with the NYPD Anti-terrorism Bureau.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field.
  • Twelve years of full-time, paid, related experience, with at least eight years in a managerial/supervisory capacity.
  • Valid NYC Pistol Permit.

Nice-to-haves

  • Valid handgun license within the State of New York.
  • Valid Driver's License with no restrictions.
  • Experience in secure storage and administration of handguns.
  • Knowledge of security loss prevention and electronic security systems.
  • Experience managing security operations and personnel.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of training and regulatory compliance.
  • Certified as a NYS Dept. of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Instructor.
