About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Augusta Medical Group (AMG) is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the organization, focusing on high-quality, cost-effective patient care. The COO will integrate Augusta Health's strategic plan into AMG's operations, manage a team of 300 FTEs, including 160 physicians and advanced practice providers, and oversee the profit and loss statement. This role requires collaboration across various departments to achieve integrated performance and the development of clinical programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the smooth and efficient operation of Augusta Medical Group.
• Manage the profit and loss statement and resources associated with the organization.
• Integrate Augusta Health's strategic plan into AMG's operations.
• Develop high-quality, cost-effective, and integrated clinical programs.
• Work closely with various departments to ensure successful performance.
• Lead a team of 300 total FTEs, including 160 physicians and advanced practice providers.

Requirements

• Master's degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience at the senior management level in a multispecialty physician practice.
• Experience with hospital-based physician groups and provider-based billing.
• Fellow or Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) preferred.
• Experience leading practices to standardization in patient access, policies, procedures, and office operations.
• Familiarity with Athena Health is ideal.
• Experience with lean management systems and six sigma tools.
• Experience with continuous quality improvement.

Nice-to-haves

• Fellow or Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) in American College of Medical Practice Executive preferred.
• Familiarity with Athena Health.
