About the position

The position is responsible for managing and directing the overall operations of a specialty hospital, ensuring the delivery of quality healthcare services. The role involves providing leadership to meet strategic objectives, overseeing clinical and ancillary departments, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. The individual will also be involved in budget management, staff development, and promoting a culture of safety and quality within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct overall hospital operations, including clinical, ancillary, and support departments.
  • Provide leadership to ensure strategic objectives are met and quality healthcare services are delivered.
  • Initiate and enforce organization-wide policies and procedures to support hospital objectives.
  • Oversee compliance with legal, organizational, and medical staff standards in nursing and clinical departments.
  • Develop, interpret, and communicate hospital policies and operational procedures to department managers.
  • Contribute to and lead initiatives outlined in the Strategic Quality Plan.
  • Maintain a system to verify licensure, certification, and competency of nursing staff.
  • Develop and monitor the hospital budget, ensuring operations stay within approved limits.
  • Respond to community needs for quality healthcare services in collaboration with the Market CEO and hospital board.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements and maintain survey readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
  • Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health, or clinical specialty required.
  • Registered Nurse license in the state required.
  • Five years of experience in healthcare administration/management, with a minimum of two years at a senior nursing management level in a hospital setting.
  • Two years of prior COO or CEO level experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduate level education may substitute for required experience on a year-to-year basis.
