About the position

The Academies of Oklahoma is a pioneering life planning school dedicated to empowering students to achieve their educational and personal goals. Our innovative approach allows students to earn their high school diploma while simultaneously working towards an associate's degree, preparing them for successful futures in higher education, careers, and life. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our leadership team at The Academies of Oklahoma. The COO will play a critical role in the strategic planning and operational management of the school. Reporting directly to the Superintendent, this individual will oversee the Director of Facilities and the Director of Finance, ensuring that the school runs efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with our mission and values. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a strong operational background, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for education.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Superintendent and leadership team to develop and implement strategic plans, goals, and policies that promote the mission and vision of The Academies of Oklahoma.
  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the school, including management of facilities, finance, human resources, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Provide oversight and support to the Director of Facilities and the Director of Finance, facilitating effective communication and collaboration between departments.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and reporting processes to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the school.
  • Ensure the maintenance and safety of school facilities. Collaborate with the Director of Facilities to plan for any renovations, expansions, or repairs needed to meet the school's goals.
  • Establish performance metrics, monitoring systems, and continuous improvement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community members, promoting collaboration and transparency.
  • Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as school policies and procedures.
