About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is an executive role responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of NorDx within MaineHealth. The COO collaborates with the President to set organizational goals and objectives, devises strategies, organizes resources, and monitors performance to ensure that operational and strategic objectives are met. This position requires effective communication of goals throughout the organization and collaboration with Directors to ensure day-to-day operations align with these objectives. The COO also analyzes organizational data to identify problems and prioritize opportunities for improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead all operational aspects of the organization to ensure quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Establish goals and objectives in collaboration with the President.
• Devise strategies and formulate plans to meet operational and strategic objectives.
• Organize resources and monitor performance to ensure objectives are met.
• Communicate goals and objectives throughout the organization.
• Work with Directors to ensure day-to-day operations align with organizational objectives.
• Analyze data to identify problems and prioritize opportunities for improvement.
• Facilitate appropriate changes within the organization.

Requirements

• Advanced degree required, preferably a Masters in Business Administration.
• Healthcare management experience is required, with laboratory management experience strongly preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years' senior management experience in a healthcare environment is required.
• Medium to advanced level proficiency in Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint, and multiple system platforms.
• Ability to deal with complex technical/management problems and manage multiple concurrent projects.
