About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Second Harvest of Silicon Valley will set the strategic direction and provide leadership to optimize the organization's ability to provide food assistance across San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. This role involves close collaboration with the CEO and the executive team to define operational goals and priorities, ensuring effective food procurement, logistics, and overall operational efficiency in support of the mission to end hunger in the community.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the CEO to design and implement strategies for food procurement and distribution.
• Lead a team of cross-functional directors to address community food assistance needs.
• Partner with the Programs team to optimize food procurement and logistical support.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the Operations organization.
• Maintain facilities and manage equipment acquisition and maintenance.
• Support the Philanthropy team by engaging with donors and serving as a spokesperson when needed.
