About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at ABI Construction's Roofing Division will lead the company's operations, focusing on strategic growth, optimizing processes, and developing a strong team culture. This role is pivotal in ensuring the business runs efficiently while maintaining high customer satisfaction and financial health. The COO will work closely with the founders to co-create strategic plans and drive daily operations, making it essential for the candidate to have a strong entrepreneurial mindset and experience in business management.

Responsibilities

  • Co-create the strategic plan with the business founders and drive the process to ensure business growth.
  • Independently lead daily operations for the business.
  • Set, track, and review business metrics & data that measure progress towards goals.
  • Manage project progress and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively solve problems with customers, team members, and suppliers.
  • Oversee business financials, including construction costs and job pricing.
  • Optimize business operations infrastructure and improve processes and systems.
  • Implement and manage technology and tools to optimize processes.
  • Develop and nurture external relationships to support company growth.
  • Grow and develop roofing crews to deliver high-level service.
  • Identify roles that need to be filled and assist in recruitment and onboarding.
  • Manage training for team members and communicate expectations for success.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in a similar role or equivalent experience running a small business.
  • Experience in an entrepreneurial environment with ownership of business initiatives.
  • Knowledge of business financials and ability to maintain healthy margins.
  • Experience developing and implementing operational systems and procedures.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage project plans.
  • Experience in setting and implementing business strategy.
  • Creative problem-solving capabilities and proactive identification of solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with openness to feedback.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Hands-on experience managing and leading a team.
  • Track record for developing and nurturing relationships.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of online productivity tools and technology.
  • Proficient in using project management tools, specifically Monday.com.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions to improve business areas.
  • Experience in the construction industry is preferred, roofing experience is not required.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a bonus.
