About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Cooperative Production is responsible for overseeing the administration of agency services, providing leadership in key management areas, and managing the day-to-day operations of the organization in the absence of the President & CEO. This role emphasizes a person-centered approach to service delivery for individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring that the organization meets its mission and regulatory requirements while fostering community integration and personal development for its clients.

Responsibilities

  • Work with President & CEO to develop and maintain organizational management efficiencies.
  • Lead policy development, strategic planning, public relations, and other management functions alongside the President & CEO.
  • Integrate financial goals and human resource considerations into service delivery outcomes with the Vice Presidents of Finance and Human Resources.
  • Manage the day-to-day affairs of the corporation in the absence of the President & CEO.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee facility maintenance operations and functions.
  • Administer agency direct care services and supports.
  • Develop and manage new/expanded agency services with the President & CEO.
  • Implement plans for expansion or modification of existing services with management staff.
  • Allocate agency resources effectively to address consumer needs within budgetary parameters.
  • Coordinate licensing and certification requirements of agency services.
  • Ensure compliance with agency and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination of all service components throughout the organization.
  • Monitor critical services issues and related reports.
  • Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, families, and outside service providers.
  • Develop and implement internal program evaluation systems and procedures.
  • Monitor admission and discharge processes and procedures.
  • Create feedback opportunities for staff, participants, and family members regarding service delivery and agency administration.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Human Resources on hiring practices, employee orientation, performance evaluations, and training activities.
  • Keep the President & CEO informed of regulatory, operational, and programmatic changes.
  • Advocate for legal, civil, and human rights as necessary.
  • Serve as a resource to staff and consumers in day-to-day program affairs.
  • Monitor the implementation of the agency's mission, service goals, and program objectives across all service components.
  • Ensure the implementation of coordinated management, supervisor, clinical, and staff meetings.
  • Serve as HCSIS Administrator and Liaison for DDS contracting, ensuring timely completion of contracting and recredentialing.
  • Complete the Annual Management report to meet regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred).
  • Five years of senior management experience in the field of developmental disabilities or related field.
  • Demonstrated history of management accomplishments in service delivery and administration.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and agreement to use one's vehicle for business purposes.
  • Acceptable Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check.
