About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at CHRISTUS Mother Frances is responsible for leading and overseeing operations for both the Tyler and Jacksonville facilities. This role emphasizes the promotion of the CHRISTUS Health mission and values through effective operational processes, ensuring quality care, service excellence, and community benefit. The COO will develop strategic plans based on community needs and support the President in their absence, fostering positive relationships with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of operations for CHRISTUS Mother Frances - Tyler and Jacksonville.
  • Promote the CHRISTUS Health mission, core values, and vision through effective operational processes.
  • Ensure quality of care, service excellence, and community benefit according to CHRISTUS Health Strategy.
  • Develop plans to implement care and services based on community needs and strategic plans.
  • Support the President and fulfill leadership responsibilities in their absence.
  • Maintain effective communication with executives, directors, associates, medical staff, community representatives, and board members.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in health administration, Business Administration, or other advanced health- or business-related degree.
  • Progressive career experience as a senior operating officer of a health care facility.
  • Broad-based experience in multi-hospital systems and Catholic health care is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of leadership, strategic management, change management, and financial management of operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with diverse individuals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Membership or fellowship in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
