About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Sportable will provide executive leadership and drive strategic operations within the organization, which focuses on enhancing the adaptive sports community. This role is pivotal in influencing positive change by facilitating sports participation for individuals with disabilities. The COO will work closely with the CEO to establish the organization's vision and operational strategy, ensuring effective management of resources and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic partner alongside the CEO to establish and advance the organization's vision and operational strategy.
• Oversee successful recruitment, onboarding, professional development, performance evaluation, and employee retention.
• Provide guidance and strategic direction for financial operations, including the annual operating budget and compliance with 501(c)(3) regulations.
• Represent the organization to strategic partners and grant funders, including government agencies and corporate entities.
• Ensure adherence to national and local business regulations and take appropriate measures when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a similar field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior administrative management role, preferably within a nonprofit.
• Strong judgment, analytic reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Experience with CRMs/databases, with Salesforce being a plus.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint; as well as PowerBI.
