About the position

Homebase is a national nonprofit dedicated to addressing the social problem of homelessness. Our mission is to end homelessness, prevent its recurrence, and decrease its effect on communities. We work at the local, state, and national levels to support our partners in designing systems and implementing responses to homelessness while fostering collaboration and collective impact in addressing its political and economic causes. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our enthusiastic team and lead our operations and administration. The COO will be a core member of the Executive Team, responsible for the overall operations of the organization, guided by our core values of equity and impact. This role will focus on designing and implementing infrastructure and systems to support our current work while also preparing for the future needs of Homebase operations. The COO will oversee various functions including Finance, HR, IT, and contracts, ensuring that Homebase has the necessary staffing, systems, and procedures in place to support organizational stability and program impact. This position requires a collaborative leader who can inspire and guide a capable team while promoting anti-racism, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. The COO will also be responsible for integrating key operational data systems, developing organizational strategies to support staff, and managing a substantial organizational budget. This dynamic role can be performed remotely or from our San Francisco office, with hybrid scheduling options available.
