About the position

The Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at UNC Health Nash is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing operational efficiencies and performance improvements across the organization. The COO will implement strategic plans, manage various service areas, and collaborate with senior leadership to enhance operational and financial performance, ultimately aiming to improve community health outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operational efficiencies and performance improvement across UNC Nash.
• Implement the strategic plan in collaboration with the President and CEO.
• Manage areas including cardiovascular services, imaging, cancer services, lab, inpatient rehab, and inpatient psych.
• Partner with senior leadership to enhance operational and financial performance.
• Drive a culture of accountability and transparency within the organization.
• Identify opportunities for collaboration with medical staff and executive colleagues to improve community well-being.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of progressive operational leadership experience in a hospital or health system.
• Experience in a multi-site environment is preferred.
• Strong understanding of rural healthcare and population health strategies.
• Ability to build internal and external partnerships and engage with board members.
