Cutten Fields, a prestigious private golf and tennis club located in Guelph, Ontario, is seeking a dedicated Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the organization into its next chapter. Established in 1931 and now owned by the University of Guelph, Cutten Fields boasts a rich history and a commitment to providing an exceptional experience for its members. The club features an 18-hole championship golf course and four Har-Tru clay indoor tennis courts, serving over 700 adult members. With a strong financial position and annual revenue of $6 million, the club has recently completed significant renovations, including new bent grass greens and an air-supported structure for the tennis courts. The COO will play a pivotal role in managing all aspects of the club's operations, ensuring that the club's mission of delivering a high-quality, enjoyable experience is met. This position involves overseeing the relationships between the club and its Board of Directors, members, guests, employees, and the broader community. The COO will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the club's budget, maintaining the quality of services, and safeguarding the club's assets. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker who can navigate the complexities of club governance, financial oversight, and member services while fostering a positive and engaging environment for both staff and members. As the club transitions to new leadership following the retirement of the current COO after 22 years, the incoming COO will be tasked with continuing the legacy of excellence and innovation at Cutten Fields. This includes leading the management team, developing and executing strategic plans, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the private club or hospitality industry, with proven experience in management, financial planning, and relationship building.
