About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at CHRISTUS Mother Frances - Tyler is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of operations for both Tyler and Jacksonville facilities. This role emphasizes promoting the CHRISTUS Health mission and ensuring quality care, service excellence, and community benefit. The COO will develop operational plans based on community needs and support the President in their absence, fostering effective communication with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of operations for CHRISTUS Mother Frances - Tyler and Jacksonville.
  • Promote the CHRISTUS Health mission, core values, and vision through effective operational processes.
  • Ensure quality of care and service excellence in alignment with community benefit and business literacy.
  • Develop plans to implement care and services based on community needs and strategic plans.
  • Maintain positive relationships and effective communications with executives, directors, associates, medical staff, community representatives, and board members.
  • Support the President and fulfill leadership responsibilities in their absence.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in health administration, Business Administration, or other advanced health- or business-related degree.
  • Progressive career experience as a senior operating officer in a health care facility.
  • Broad-based experience in a multi-hospital system and Catholic health care is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of leadership, strategic management, change management, and communications.
  • Ability to motivate others and work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with diverse individuals.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and solve management issues.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience interacting with physicians and leaders in the business community.
  • Knowledge of hospital and health care practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines.
