About the position

Phoebe Ministries (Phoebe), a non-profit, multi-facility organization in Eastern Pennsylvania specializing in healthcare, housing, and support services for senior adults, is seeking a talented executive to join their team as Chief Operating Officer (COO). The COO will report directly to the President & Chief Executive Officer, Scott Stevenson, and will be responsible for directing the overall business and support service operations of Phoebe. This role is crucial as the COO will be accountable for the growth, operations, and financial results of the organization. The successful candidate will lead and support Phoebe team members in both strategic and operational decision-making to accomplish the key priorities and objectives of the organization. As a trusted thought partner and "second in command" to the CEO, the COO will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of the organization, including its business, environment, and people. This position is designed to position the COO as a potential successor to the CEO, making it an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished, mission-driven, collaborative leader who is passionate about improving healthcare and senior living services. The ideal candidate will have a strong operational leadership background, particularly in managing multi-campus operations within an acute care, post-acute care, or long-term care environment. Experience in a long-term care setting is preferred, and the candidate must have exposure to long-term care operations.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the overall business and support service operations of Phoebe Ministries.
  • Accountable for the growth, operations, and financial results of the organization.
  • Lead and support team members in strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner and 'second in command' to the CEO.
  • Position oneself as a potential successor to the CEO by learning all aspects of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' operational leadership experience managing multi-campus operations within an acute care, post-acute care, or long-term care environment.
  • Experience in a long-term care setting is preferred; must have exposure to long-term care.
  • Current position as a Chief Operating Officer, VP of Operations, or another senior executive-level position in a healthcare provider or senior living organization with a reputation for excellence.
  • Outstanding and hands-on operational leadership skills/experience.
  • Leadership experience overseeing multiple campuses is preferred.
