About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at VOA Texas is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence across the organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the COO will oversee various departments, including Housing Management, Housing Development, and Human Resources, while fostering growth and efficiency within the organization. This position is crucial for developing diverse business operations and ensuring the organization meets its mission and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and implements business strategies, plans, and procedures.
  • Sets comprehensive goals for performance and growth.
  • Establishes policies that promote the company mission, culture, and vision.
  • Oversees a diverse business operation of the company and the work of assigned executives.
  • Leads to encourage maximum performance and dedication.
  • Evaluates business performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
  • Establishes and cultivates key community, government, and organizational relationships that support the organization's legislative and philanthropic agenda.
  • Provides support to the CEO regarding the impact of legislative, regulatory, or judicial policies on service delivery.
  • Represents VOA Texas in advocacy activities and public events as requested.
  • Serves as VOA-TX's representative on local, state, and national boards/agencies.
  • Writes and submits reports to the CEO in all matters of importance.
  • Assists CEO and the organization to secure grants, contracts, and philanthropic projects.
  • Participates in expansion activities such as investments, acquisitions, and corporate alliances.
  • Manages relationships with agency partners/vendors.
  • Supports the Board of Directors by working directly with members as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or relevant field; Master's Degree preferred.
  • 10 years' experience in a non-profit organization or executive level in a corporation.
