About the position

The Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Bishop & Company, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the operational efficiency and effectiveness of a progressive, culturally based non-profit organization. This role involves developing and implementing operational strategies, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and vision, and providing strategic insights to the executive leadership team. The COO will lead program-related operations, manage budgets, and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational policies and promote continuous improvement.
  • Lead strategic plan execution and optimize processes.
  • Oversee risk and compliance functions and consult with legal counsel as needed.
  • Monitor KPIs to ensure consistent improvement in operations.
  • Oversee the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs.
  • Manage budgets and utilize data for decision-making.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the Facilities Department.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Program Officer and contribute to the executive team.
  • Mentor department leaders and provide performance feedback.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration across teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, management, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum ten years of progressive management experience, preferably in operations management.
  • Strong background in leading cross-functional teams and strategic plan execution.
  • Experience in youth development or social services programs preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage multiple projects.
  • Experience with non-profit organizations and mission work preferred.
  • Proficiency with Mac products, Business Intelligence tools, and advanced Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interact effectively with youth, community partners, and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Respect for and appreciation of Hawaiian values, history, and culture.

Benefits

  • Compensation range of $250,000 - $280,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience and budget approved.
