About the position

The Vice President and COO will play a crucial role in shaping the operational efficiency and effectiveness of a progressive, culturally based non-profit organization. This position is responsible for overseeing program-related operations, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic vision, and developing operational strategies across various functions. The COO will provide strategic insights to the executive leadership and the Board of Trustees, making a significant impact on the organization's mission and vision.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational policies to promote continuous improvement.
  • Lead the execution of the strategic plan and optimize processes.
  • Oversee risk and compliance functions and monitor KPIs for consistent improvement.
  • Manage the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs.
  • Provide guidance to the Facilities Department for optimal operation of all facilities.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Program Officer and mentor department leaders.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the organization.
  • Ensure teams are knowledgeable about the mission and strategic path.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, management, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum ten years of progressive management experience, preferably in operations management.
  • Strong background in leading cross-functional teams and strategic plan execution.
  • Experience in youth development or social services programs preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with non-profit organizations and mission work preferred.
  • Proficiency with Mac products, Business Intelligence tools, and advanced Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interact effectively with youth and community partners.

Benefits

  • Compensation of $250,000 - $280,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience.
