About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Faculty Physicians Inc. is responsible for overseeing the clinical operational performance of the organization and its affiliated Practice Associations. This role involves implementing strategies and policies to enhance clinical practices, improve patient care, and ensure profitability. The COO collaborates with various stakeholders, including the Dean of the University of Maryland School of Medicine and clinical administrators, to drive the organization's clinical practice strategies and maintain productive relationships across the institution.

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective implementation of approved strategies, tactics, policies, and procedures in all clinical practices.
• Provide operational consultation for all activities of the practice in accordance with business and strategic plans.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to implement short and long-term clinical practice strategies.
• Enhance quality of care, patient satisfaction, patient access, clinical care growth, and practice profitability.
• Establish and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders within FPI and the University of Maryland Medical System.
• Lead the ongoing development, implementation, and overall management of FPI and its clinical operations.

Requirements

• MBA, MHA or MA degree required.
• 10+ years of senior level leadership experience in leading clinical operations in a large physician practice or physician group.
• Strong understanding of ambulatory care operations, finance, and administration.
• Knowledge of regulatory and policy environments.
• Familiarity with Athena IDX and Epic systems.
• Knowledge of physician professional fee billing.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
