About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in fulfilling the mission of MCC, focusing on the development and refinement of the organization to position it for future growth in the Early Childhood Development sector. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing relationships with funders, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supervising staff across various departments. The COO will also be responsible for budget planning and strategic goal development, as well as managing complex projects to achieve organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Support the CEO in the mission of MCC and organizational development.
  • Oversee daily operations and manage position openings and closings.
  • Manage relationships with funders and complete grant management reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Director and key staff for audits preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety laws, audits, and education mandates.
  • Manage facilities and make recommendations for repairs and improvements.
  • Supervise professional staff in HR, Program, and Education areas.
  • Plan, direct, control, implement, evaluate, monitor, and forecast budgets.
  • Collaborate with executives to develop long-range strategic goals.
  • Organize and manage complex projects for organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required; Master's in Business, Finance, or Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • Demonstrated success with government funding for non-profits.
  • Ability to motivate and organize employees across different expertise areas.
  • Excellent business and budget-planning skills.
  • Strong mastery of technology, systems, and software.
