About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at St. Tammany Health System is a strategic and operational leader who plays a vital role in the Executive Leadership Team. The COO is responsible for providing direction and vision for the health system, ensuring operational efficiency, and integrating the strategic plan into daily operations. This role involves mentoring and motivating leaders, overseeing clinical programs, and fostering a culture of patient-centered care and service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, and vision for the health system.
  • Ensure operational efficiency to support the organization's growth and vision.
  • Integrate the strategic plan into operations effectively.
  • Oversee the high reliability journey to ensure quality and cost-effective clinical programs.
  • Drive a culture of patient and family-centered care and service excellence.
  • Communicate performance initiatives and create change at all levels.
  • Attract, recruit, and retain top leadership talent.

Requirements

  • MHA, MBA, or related master's degree.
  • Seven plus years of progressively responsible senior administrative level experience in a health system.
  • Demonstrated competence in managing complex problems and developing new projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with physicians, peers, staff, and the public.
  • Competent in computer use and executive-level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional conduct and appearance.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare financial reporting and monitoring.
  • FACHE preferred.
