About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) oversees Club operations and programs, focusing on day-to-day management, program development, staff supervision, facilities management, and budget oversight. The COO leads strategic planning initiatives and ensures effective communication with the Board of Directors regarding key operational updates and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation and delivery of operations, programs, services, and activities to achieve Youth Development Outcomes.
• Lead the development and implementation of organizational infrastructure to facilitate operational goals.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve program effectiveness and recommend modifications.
• Visit Clubs weekly to observe programming and provide support.
• Manage performance of assigned staff and provide technical assistance in program design and operations.
• Plan and implement staff development and training programs.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
• Monitor monthly Club revenues and track scholarships.
• Create and monitor Clubs' budgets with the Chief Financial Officer and report variances.
• Assist with facilities management and overall asset management.
• Develop collaborative partnerships with youth-serving organizations and community groups.
• Ensure valid data collection for monthly grant reports and provide comprehensive reports on grant outcomes.
• Participate in activities to maintain public trust in Club programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• A minimum of five or more years of Boys & Girls Club experience at the unit director level or higher, or similar organization.
• Practical knowledge of member tracking database systems such as ezChildTrack and Excel.
• Considerable knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs.
• Demonstrated ability to organize, direct, and coordinate operations and personnel supervision.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and develop solutions with limited supervision.
