About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast is responsible for the administrative direction, evaluation, and coordination of hospital functions and activities. This executive role involves leading the hospital's governing body, improving facilities, ensuring effective resource utilization, and enhancing patient service quality. The COO represents the CEO in their absence and contributes to the organization's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Function at an executive level in an active leadership role with the hospital's governing body and medical staff leadership.
  • Directly responsible for the improvement of hospital facilities, including construction, renovation, and equipment purchasing.
  • Establish performance measures for department leaders to increase productivity and quality improvement.
  • Ensure effective execution of key systems and processes for resource utilization.
  • Lead a team to enhance product or service quality and drive business improvements.
  • Create a work environment that fosters employee commitment and job ownership.
  • Build strategic alliances and partnerships to execute business strategies collaboratively.
  • Design products and processes to ensure customer satisfaction and incorporate customer perspectives.
  • Contribute to the development of the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Promote positive patient interactions that enhance patient service.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
  • 3+ years of experience in progressive acute care management as a COO or through a COO development program.
