About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Fogg Remington EyeCare is a key executive responsible for overseeing the operational management and strategic direction of the practice. This role involves managing day-to-day operations across Patient Service and Clinic departments, ensuring timely and courteous delivery of patient care. The COO will implement operational strategies, develop performance metrics, and drive quality assurance initiatives to enhance patient experience and operational efficiency. Additionally, the COO collaborates with the executive team to contribute to strategic planning and make data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of designated departments/operational units, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of eye care services.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance patient care and operational efficiencies.
  • Utilize data analysis techniques to extract insights and make data-driven decisions that support strategic goals.
  • Streamline operational workflows and processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Lead and mentor the team, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to establish a patient-centric culture and improve the patient experience.
  • Monitor patient satisfaction metrics and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Ensure a positive work environment focusing on onboarding, development opportunities, and employee engagement.
  • Develop mutually beneficial referral relationships with medical professionals and related practice models.
  • Implement quality assurance programs to ensure safe and effective eye care services.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Monitor financial performance, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure financial stability and growth.
  • Collaborate with the CFO to oversee facility management and maintenance operations.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and negotiate contracts to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Health Sciences or relevant discipline, or comparable experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare management (operations, administration, etc.).
  • 3-5 years of experience leading management level teams.
  • 2-4 years of experience overseeing operational teams of 30+ staff.
  • Experience leading teams in complex organizations across multiple operating units.
  • Experience leading change initiatives at a department or multi-department level.
  • Experience developing and administering multi-million dollar budgets.
  • Personnel management experience including employee engagement, recruitment, and retention.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or other relevant discipline.
  • Expert level familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of budgeting, revenue cycle management, and financial reporting.
