About The Position

AHRC New York City is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee the efficient operation of all programs and services. The COO will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives while leading a diverse team to achieve the organization's mission of supporting neurodivergent individuals. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure that policies and procedures are effectively implemented and that the organization's values are reflected in all operations.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, public administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit or government organizations, preferably in Human Services, Social Services, Behavioral Health, or Healthcare.
  • Demonstrated success in program development, operational management, and staff development.
  • Strong understanding of Medicaid, Medicare, and other governmental funding mechanisms.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, leadership, and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Passion for the mission, vision, values, and culture of AHRC New York City.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary and strategic leadership to inspire and motivate a diverse team of program and department heads.
  • Foster a collaborative culture throughout the organization, shaping strategy and driving mission-focused initiatives.
  • Proactively identify challenges and implement effective solutions through strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Communicate effectively with the Board of Directors, staff, external stakeholders, and funders.
  • Leverage experience in coaching and developing senior leaders, promoting professional growth and capacity building.
  • Lead through changing environments while managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Execute responsibilities with sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and a commitment to promoting an inclusive work environment.
  • Use data and feedback to set performance metrics and implement quality assurance processes.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all programs and services to ensure high standards of quality.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and advocate for policies supporting neurodivergent individuals.
  • Collaborate with the CFO to develop annual program budgets and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
