About the position

Advocates for Human Potential (AHP) is looking for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee our organizations ongoing operations and procedures and will be responsible for the efficiency of business. A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience with anticipating business needs, managing all aspects of project management including effectively influencing peers to achieve established milestones and knowing how to prioritize sometimes competing initiatives to the advancement of the business. The COO role is a key member of the senior management team, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The COO will oversee and lead diverse business consulting and research operations, so we expect successful candidates to be an experienced and efficient leader. A candidate will not be considered qualified without excellent people leadership, business acumen, exemplary work ethics and a passion for our mission. The goal of the COO position is to ensure smooth and well-run operations that will allow AHP to continue to grow and evolve to meet the needs of our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures.
  • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth.
  • Oversee daily operations of the company and work in partnership with leadership team members to support smooth operations in all functional areas.
  • Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication.
  • Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
  • Write and submit reports to the CEO in all matters of importance.
  • Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.).
  • Manage relationships with partners/vendors.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as Chief Operating Officer or demonstrated experience managing a large, complex business segment in a similar industry.
  • Understanding of all business functions.
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development.
  • Experience in business development will be a plus.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
  • Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus.
