About the position

The Chief People and Culture Officer (CPCO) at MSH will lead the organization's human resources management and organizational culture initiatives. This role involves developing strategies to attract, retain, and engage a diverse workforce across nearly 50 countries, while serving as a key advisor to the CEO and senior leadership. The CPCO will oversee the global HR team, implement compliance policies, and drive organizational change to foster a collaborative and inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead the global HR team in creating an inviting employee experience.
  • Develop strong connectivity from country to region to global teams.
  • Implement and manage policy and compliance efforts with employment laws and regulations.
  • Sit on the MSH Ethics Committee to review investigations and ethics violations.
  • Oversee enterprise crisis and risk management processes.
  • Build common objectives and goals for the HR team to work together effectively.
  • Develop and drive strategic organizational initiatives for open communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor progress against organizational initiatives with clear implementation plans.
  • Advise leadership on succession plans for key employees.
  • Assess organizational effectiveness and efficiency to support business goals.
  • Engage with peers to become a trusted advisor on people challenges.
  • Build a comprehensive approach to shaping the global workforce.
  • Implement recruiting strategies to attract professionals with expertise.
  • Enhance the Talent Management Framework aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Develop existing talent through innovative training and career management approaches.
  • Ensure organizational values are reflected in people-oriented decisions.
  • Engage staff through forums and open communication channels.
  • Oversee Employee Engagement survey and action plans.
  • Liaise with the Board of Directors People, Culture, and Compensation committee.
  • Implement strategic priorities to ensure MSH executes critical strategies.
  • Develop relationships across the organization to act as strategic business partners.

Requirements

  • Advanced Degree preferred or equivalent business experience.
  • Proven 'builder' with a record of delivering solutions and measurable success.
  • Experience migrating an organization to a new set of capabilities.
  • Proven leader who understands the critical role HR plays as a cultural steward.
  • Passionate about talent management and development.
  • Experience managing complex HR functions across a geographically dispersed organization.
  • Knowledgeable of the international development landscape related to MSH's mission.
  • Extensive experience in directing compensation and benefits, performance management, and HR software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of and experience with USAID is beneficial but not required.
  • Genuine passion for MSH's mission of bridging the gap between science and action in public health.
