About the position

The Chief People Experience Officer (CPXO) at Crunchyroll is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the People business partnership and practices across the company's global operations. The CPXO will focus on attracting, developing, and retaining exceptional talent while fostering a people-first culture. This role requires a hands-on approach to building a modern organization, including managing hiring processes, employee engagement, compensation strategies, and learning and development initiatives. The CPXO will also prioritize diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) within the organization and will report directly to the President of Crunchyroll.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, hiring, and ongoing management of the People team.
  • Amplify core values and build employee connections to keep people informed, engaged, and inspired.
  • Spearhead talent acquisition strategies and processes to ensure hiring of top talent.
  • Manage compensation and benefits approach, creating a competitive framework suited to regional needs.
  • Establish learning and development practices for personal and professional growth.
  • Create a performance management methodology that reflects and reinforces company values.
  • Prioritize DEIB in all business aspects through effective strategies and tactics.
  • Drive a metrics-based framework to understand organizational trends and translate insights into actionable measures.
  • Develop best-practice operational processes within the People Operations team and across the organization.
  • Design HR frameworks and systems to meet the needs of a rapidly changing company.
  • Collaborate with senior executives on strategic planning related to people management.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop the People Operations team to elevate performance.
  • Act as a visible member of the executive team and partner with the wider Sony Pictures People organization.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in a leadership/managerial capacity focused on People Operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership with a strong personal presence and results-oriented approach.
  • Excellent knowledge of culture, HR best practices, and industry standards.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to establish trusted advisor relationships with executives.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both articulate and persuasive, with active listening abilities.
  • Work ethic that emphasizes ownership and delegation as needed.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
