About the position

The Chief People Officer (CPO) will lead the development and execution of the human capital strategy in alignment with the organization's mission and values. This role encompasses a wide range of HR functions and is crucial in fostering a unified work culture that exemplifies the company's values, particularly in the context of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) priorities. The CPO will act as a trusted advisor to the executive team and ensure a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of human capital strategy.
  • Oversee employee relations, talent management, and change management.
  • Manage performance management processes and training and development initiatives.
  • Design and administer competitive compensation and benefits packages.
  • Drive a comprehensive people strategy aligned with the organization's mission and values.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team on HR matters.
  • Ensure a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.

Requirements

  • Strong background in HR with a focus on JEDI issues.
  • 7-10 years of supervisory and leadership experience in HR.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong change management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, especially in a unionized environment.
  • Master's degree in HR or a related field.
  • SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proven track record in strategic recruiting and retention.
  • Experience in managing training programs.
